Terms of Use
DRAFT — under review by Known Earth's owner. This is a plain-English draft, not legal advice, and may change before Known Earth opens to the public.
Using Known Earth
Known Earth is a private travel atlas and journal. Use it for your own trips and keep your login to yourself. You're responsible for what you and the people you invite add to your atlas.
Your content
Your trips, writing, and photos stay yours. You give Known Earth permission only to store them and show them to you and the people in your atlas. Only upload photos you have the right to share.
Family atlases
The atlas owner can invite and remove people. Anyone on a trip can add entries; only the writer can edit or delete their own entries.
Payments
Known Earth is free while it's invite-only. If paid plans are introduced, prices will be shown before you are charged, payments will be processed by Stripe, and you'll be able to cancel at any time.
No guarantees
We work hard to keep Known Earth running and your data safe, but the service is provided as-is. Keep copies of photos that matter to you. You can download your data anytime from the Account page.
Ending
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that misuse the service. We'll post changes to these terms here.
